Labour stopping and starting

Hi,

I had about three hours worth of contractions yesterday that were about ten minutes apart and lasted about a minute each, they did tail off in the end and I know that this can happen.

I'm just wondering for those that had this, how long did it take for labour to kick in properly?

Thanks

Mine started like this on the Thursday and DD was born the following Tuesday. Rest as much as you can when they stop, don't worry about timing cx, you'll know when it's established labour.

Good luck Smile

Rest as much as you can. It could still be several days away. Are they definitely real contractions or regular BHs?

Not personally convinced about the "you'll know when it's proper labour" thing. I had lots of stopping and starting of regular strong contractions before DD was born and there wasn't much difference in intensity between the ones that stopped on Thurs, Fri, Sat or Sun. They were all proper labour in my experience.

Good luck!

Frustrating isn't it! I had mild contractions on the Tues - was 3cm on Wed morning when I had a sweep - fairly intense contractions all day, starting and stopping every few hours, slept Wednesday night and then has some more for a couple of hours on Thursday evening, woke me up at 1am Fri morning, v.v. painful by 3am, in hospital by 4am, was 7cm on arrival and DS born at 8.20am

Good luck, rest as much as you can, you may well be dilating and frustrating as it is, it may be a much quicker 'established' labour - I only had G+A (did swear alot and demand epidural about 5 mins before giving birth mind) Smile

Fair enough, so rest and chocolate seem to be the order of the day.

Togarama My BH's up until now have been painless ones, mainly my tummy just goes hard thats why I thought they were different.
