Apologies fir the TMI but...

had a 2nd degree tear 6 weeks ago. PFMs have always been very tight pre-birth and due to big baby they got rather stretched.

Was steadily improving but have recently noticed the following:
-aching at the front during bowel motions (rather like during delivery)
-some bladder leaking which seems worse after doing my exercises.

Anyone else had apparent sudden problems crop up? Have had no continence issues at all til now and I suspect the two issues are related.

Yes, I had an extended 2nd degree tear with my first. What I would say is that 6 weeks is still early in the recovery process for your stiches healing and body/muscles getting back to normal.

However, I did end up going to see a specialist physio about 7 months after the birth because I was still having problems. Improved quite quickly after that. No further problems until well into 2nd pg.

If it carries on go and see your gp and see if a referral is necessary. Not sure what timescales would be to determine what would be normal recovery period to persistent problem.

Could the aching actually just be your wound area? Does it hurt any other time? If it does it may be worth getting it checked out.
