Really painful afterpains / period type pains 11 days after cs?

Haven't felt any afterpains since about day 2/3, now they suddenly seem to have come back really strongly. Also my bleeding which had settled down has been much heavier (more like a heavy period than a light period).

Do I need to call someone? If so, who? We have already been discharged by the MW, don't yet have a named HV and obviously GP is shut over the weekend.

About the bleeding, I was told that after a cs the second week often has heavier bleeding. But you should maybe ring someone to get advice anyway. Can't help much with the afterpains, as I didn't really feel any even though I bf. My friend had a kidney/ urine infection after birth which at first she thought was afterpains, so again it might be worth getting in touch with someone.

I'm pretty certain I was able to phone the antenatal ward after coming home for a couple of weeks while everything else was being sorted. Try there anyway and they can at least put you on to the right people.

Hope you feel better soon.

how are you now?

if it helps i found i was doing a bit more after the first week as scar was less sore etc.
BUT when i did more i bled more and had more pains.

hope all's well

Thanks. Saw GP this a.m. and he said it doesn't look like infection, probably just the internal scar tissue healing, worse as have now had 2x EMCSs. Also he said what soppypreggyloon said re doing more causing pain and heavier bleeding and told me to take it easy!

i was wondering if it might be the internal scar - i'm the same Jacksmybaby although a few days behind you. I have had very little bleeding until yesterday and today but its returned! I have had quite a busy weekend so maybe i did overdo it.

good excuse to take it easy i reckon. hope it eases for you soon.

might be worth getting checked by yr gp ginger, he said I was right to see someone, it can be sign of infection (he felt all over tummy and thought not infected as soft not hard). hope u improve soon.
