Uncomfy labia 10 days after birth

Namechanged for this, I remember poor UCM!

I had a vaginal delivery last week and have recovered fine but I've got really uncomfortable bits Blush. It might just be wearing the pads but I've tried three different kinds and nothing helps.

It's sort of hypersensitive around my inner labia and my clitoris is really really uncomfy, not sore per se but tender and it's hard to get comfortable when I sit down. I thought it might be that my lochia seems to be seeping forwards and irritating my bits but it has slowed a lot now. I've been having a bath each morning and making sure everything gets a good rinse round. It doesn't look red or sore at all.

Any ideas? MW has discharged me and TBH it would need to be a good bit more troublesome before I could face unleashing my nethers for yet another HCP to have a rummage!

Try using original source lavendar shower gel/bath stuff in your bath. Anything with real lavendar oil in it really.

Did you have any labial grazes during delivery? Could it be thrush? My bits never look particularly red but I often have thrush and the only symptom is pain.

If it doesn't improve with a little lavendar for natual antibacterial / antiseptic properties then I would suggest a visit to the gp - you truly don't want an infection setting in this early, especially if you're bf. I had antibiotics with dc3 after a week and it screwed up feeding for me.

Oh, and congrats!

Damn, I've already been using lavender oil in the bath ...

I smell fine Grin

I had a graze that was really painful and seemed to take ages to heal. I used KY Jelly on advice of MW - it was quite soothing and stopped the pads aggravating it quite so badly.

(No idea how to namechange but fortunately hardly anyone on here knows me...)

I had temporary varicous veins on my inner labia after the birth of DC 2. It felt a lot like you describe and subsided after a 2 or 3 weeks.

A graze is another possibility but that felt more localised to me.

Oh, varicose veins are a possibility, I was swollen towards the end and have piles too (what joy). I can't see anything untoward but it's not easy to investigate that closely.

I don't think it's grazing - I have a tear to compare it to and it's not like that! It's almost like the normal lubrication down there has gone. I think I'll try the KY suggestion, it'll be cool if nothing else. To be honest it feels like a good bit of natural lubrication would help no end but due to the wreckage DP's not allowed near me - shame really because HE's reaped the benefits of the mad hormone thing that made me extremely lustful this week!

No part of my undercarriage escaped unscathed, it seems!

Mw suggested putting lavender on the pad to me.
