My lovely friend has just had her first baby by c-section. She lives too far away for a visit any time soon but I want to put a box of things together for her to send in the post. Despite the fact that I had a section myself back in January I'm not sure I remember the first week or two well enough to know what I would really have liked. Any suggestions please from anyone with a better memory than me?! So far I am thinking:

  • Nice top/PJs suitable for breastfeeding
  • Bath salts for whenever she eventually feels like a nice soak
  • Cream for scar
  • Thermal cup with lid for keeping hot drinks hot
  • Bottle for water with sports type cap for drinking while lying down
  • Nice chocolates

Lovely idea, mrsweasley - sports cap drinking bottle will be very handy (I think they should be standard issue for all BF-ing mums as well) -

Slip on 'spa type' slippers that can be kicked on and off without bending down are useful too.

Small notebook and non-leaky-cap pen is a thought - I kept thinking 'must remember to buy x/do x' and couldn't get up quickly to make a note of it, so I forgot. I took to keeping a notebook near me so I could jot down reminders.
