Natural or managed third stage?

My DD was born within 2 hours and 5 minutes, majority of that time was pushing, I dilated very very quickly.

Anyway ended up having a maual removal of placenta as it refused to remove itself from the lining of my womb.

I have an appointment with Consultant in 4 weeks (36weeks) to decided whether I would like natural or managed third stage. Consultant was anti natural, as she said it was unlikely due to the way my placenta had got stuck that it was due to the injection, and she doesn't feel a natural would be advisable as I have had a retained previously so there is an increased risk of it happening again, she believes the natural stage would prolong the manual removal if required and thus increase the risk of PPH.

I have looked at a couple of sites (google found), which suggest it isn't advised after a previous retained placenta.

I was pretty convinced before my last appointment that I wanted natural, but am now concerned I might be doing more harm than good in my case.

Any advice would be great.

Has anyone had any experience of this, where the placenta was stuck to the lining of the womb and gone on to have a 2nd without any complications? If you have which method did you use?

Thank you
