sooo,whats the likelyhood of this sweep working?!

had a sweep at 4.30pm today as ive been in the latent stage of labour for 3 days...mw said i was 2-3 cm dilated and my cervex was long but soft.baby is low down,maybe back to back but moves freely so shes not worried about my active labour being back to back iyswim?!

anyone had a sweep?
what happened?
is there anything i can do to keep labour going?

at the moment im having mild contractions every 10 mins or so,lots of back pain and some bloody show earlier on...

Well sounds like you are already in early labour to me! I had a sweep with DS1 wheh he was a week overdue, I walked out of the room having cramps which built up in intensity gradually and Ds arrived about 40 hours later. hadn't had any 'signs' of imminent labouir before the sweep althought he Dr did sAY I cervix was ready to go.
