Hi,

I am 37+2 weeks and I have had a dull ache in my tummy all day. Its mainly in my sides under my bump and is worse when I move around.
Could it be something happening or could it have something to do with the fact that I was on my hands and knees yesterday cleaning the kitchen floor?! Confused

So it's not all over your bump area? If it's in your sides then is it more likely to be ligament pain from cleaning?

It COULD be something, though, who knows. Is it your first? First babies can often start like that - the dull ache could go on for hours and hours before it turns into anything.

It could be something, with my babies I had dull aching like period pain over a period of 2 weeks before giving birth, it steadily got worse until it turned into contractions at regular intervals on the day I delivered. It didn't bother me much and I was glad to know that something was going on down there, and seeing as all my labours were really short (3, 2, and three quarters of an hour) then I would much rather have that for two weeks than nothing and long drawn out labours. It could just be that your muscles are a little sore from being on your hands and knees yesterday, you'll just have to wait and see I would guess!

=)

Yes, wait and see and let us know if anything comes of it.

Thank you ladies!

Yes its my first, my mum said 'you will know when it happens' (not very helpful!) but I havent had any pain like it during my pergnancy.
Baby is wriggling around well today too which makes it worse!

I will keep you posted! :)

Well, you might know, or you might not! With my first, I was getting pains which gradually got worse over the day but I went to bed as normal as they'd seemed to die down. But as soon as I lay down they got really quite painful in certain positions and I just couldn't sleep. And I was very nervous and worried and couldn't settle. In the end I rang the hospital and said I wanted to come in and they examined me and I was just under the magic 5cm dilated so they said there was no point me going home. That was the start of a VERY long labour and the pains were very irregular and intermittent.

DS2 was completely different. The pain was intense straight away and classic contractions ie. build up to each one and each time getting more intense and closer togther. I KNEW I was in proper labour from the first pain. With DS1 I just wasn't sure and really only went in because I didn't know what was "normal" for labour and more because I am a worrier!

Anything happening with you?

Cher87 · 03/09/2010 10:19

well I really dont think its labour! It must be a case of doing a little too much and my body didnt like it!!
I had a nice bath and an early night and I feel almost 'normal' today.
I think I am going to do as everyone keeps telling me and sit on my bum today, my bf will be home at lunch time so I will order him around for the rest of the day!! :o
