Hi all,

I am going in tomorrow to request an ELCS (I lost my last baby under very traumatic circumstances so expect they will agree it is for the best for me) and wonder if they are still doing them?

Also, if anyone has any advice/could share their experience in getting one I would really appreciate it.

I am still grieving my last baby and realise that I am getting more and more upset (I have been signed off of work) as this pregnancy goes on at the idea of a natural birth... but also originally was a very 'natural' birth kind of woman IYSWIM...

sorry for yourn loss.

I have not had a 'natural' ELCS but have had 2 normmal ELCS in NHS hospitals and they were really good calm experiences. I got to be the first (other than he person doing the removing!) to hold boh my babies and cuddled them happily while they put me back together. I never asked for anything beyond their normal regime but am sure from the discussions I did have that I could have discussed any 'ideas' I had for my op.

Thanks Chynah, so glad you had good experiences - it has taken me a while to realise that this might be the best solution as I know I just won't cope at all well if I end up in a difficult situation again and forceps etc. come into the picture... I am also 40 so aware that the emergency CS rate is a bit higher.
