Bowels very painful and tender following birth????

About 4 days after the birth last Monday, my bowels have become really sore. i am bloated and it feels like trapped wind. Whwn I walkit is very tender. I took some senna and lactulos and deflatne, and spent a day farting and did a big poo and it died down. Today it has come back.

Has anyone else had this?

I did have an epidural, and I remember it a bit with previous births and ERPC s.

Nothing as bad as this Sad

which bit is sore if that's not TMI? becuase it could be many things, constipation, haemorrhoids.

are you doing your pelvic floors? although these are mostly talked about as being for your bladder, the way i was taught to do it by the midwife when i was discharged included the bowel and i have found this enormously helpful in ensuring regularity.

but if its haemorrhoids you could try anusol.

Its my whole abdomen like trapped wind that won't budge, but very sore and tender.

If I fart it does ease off and bowles aren't twisted or obstructed because i am "going"

My dd1 is 17 today! When she was born i was advised by my midwife to drink hot water (temp of tea, not boiling) to move wind and keep everything moving.

you could try continuing with the deflatine or try drinking warm/hotwater (not nice i know but it does work because it displaces gas).also your pelvic floors should help with releasing gas too if you're doing them correctly. but you should go to the doctor really,.DH is a pharmacist and this is his advice because of the soreness in the abdomen is not a good thing really.

hope you feel better Smile

I had that after spinal / forceps. It lasted a week or so and then got better quite quickly. Unpleasant but short lived!

think it might be to do with the epidural.
