Braxton hicks or labour?

I'm 36 weeks pg and had diarrhoea (sorry tmi!) and period type pains (stomach and back) since yesterday evening. Don't think I've ever had any braxton hicks contractions before but just noticed my abdomen tightening and been fairly uncomfortable all day today.

My DS was born at 36 weeks so I admit I'm on tenterhooks already - thinking every twinge is 'it'. But, what do you think - does this sound like braxton hicks or the real thing?

I have no idea....but if DS was born at 36 weeks it does sound likely to be labour. Good luck! Smile

sounds like you could be in labour. keep us updated and time the tightenings. good luck x

BH are supposed to stop if you lie down and do nothing (I think)

My BH felt as though they were on the 'surface' whereas my contractions felt 'deeper'. Don't know if that helps, probably not, sorry!
