Shooting pains up my fanjo plus contractions = labour?

I am 38 +4 today, have had several forays into the minefield of false labour and have had lots of bouts of contractions that have died away.

From early hours of this morning I have been having contractions between 8 and 12 every hour, not increasing in frequency but becoming more intense. I have been very ctive, had a long walk and done all my housework but they have not died down. For the last couple of hours I have been having intermittent shooting pains. i have had these occassionally over several weeks and midwife says baby is 3/5 engaged. The pains are much sharper and making me squeal like I am at a rave and turn my legs to jelly.

Is this a normal early labour symptom?

sounds like contractions. Have you been sick/had a huge boubt of diarrhoea? This is also an indicator. A bath can help move things along/slow them down. Are you timing them?

Hope you are OK Smile
