Wound infected again. Totally fed up.

Had a c section 4 months ago. Wound reopened in two places. Still open in the centre. It has been infected twice. It is packed and dressed every second day by nurses. It was being packed every day until this week but it had been healing. However tonight there is yellow pussy discharge coming from it instead of the usual blood. Thought It was finally healing but looks like its infected again. Haven't felt great past couple of days so this is probably why. So fed up with it. Fed up with waiting in for the nurses every day, fed up that I can't even take my dd swimming, fed up that I can't swim myself to get rid of baby weight. I'm just generally fed up with the whole thing! Sorry to rant.

have nothing helpful to say, just wanted to tell you that this sounds miserable no wonder you are so fed up! Sounds like you need antibiotics - make sure you are pushy with the nurses/doctors to make sure they are doing everything they possibly can, and perhaps take some really high dose vitamins and eat as well as you can to try and get your immune system in peak form to fight the infection.

Went to gp a few weeks ago and they said not to worry as it was clean at the time. Now I feel like I Was fobbed off but thats probably because i'm in a very bad mood tonight! Going to go to gp on monday and demand to be referred back to hospital to see a tissue viability nurse. Ah this is so annoying. I just want to be a mum and enjoy my maternity leave with my wonderful baby. Didn't think for a minute that 4 months on i'd still have an open wound Sad

I would insist on getting a referral to hospital and having a surgeon look at it - not a nurse or the GP. Good luck.

hello
how did your appt go? I haven't got an infected scar, but i am still having post cs complications after 5 weeks and can totally empathise with the wanting to enjoy your maternity leave and baby. i hope you are feeling better.
