how long after show did labour start?

I'm 37+4 with no 2. I had a show monday night. I remember it was exactly the same kinda thing with DD, I won't go into gory detail though! I was overdue with DD and went into labour at 40+12, ended up having EMCS as she was undiagnosed breech. I can't remember exactly but I think it was about 48hours after the show that contractions started. Been to see midwife today and this one is well and truely engaged (hence the funny noises I make at random due to shooting pains up my flue!) I am getting a bit excited that it may be imminent, particularly after waiting so long last time!

I was just wondering how long it took for labour to start for others after a show, and how many started with waters breaking or contractions first?

My labour started with waters breaking, contractions started 40 minutes later and I had a show just after contractions started.

I had increasingly bloody show over four days with contractions on-off during the whole time. First contraction Tuesday morning, finally got into established labour Friday night. Waters didn't break until midwife popped them!

90 minutes after show, delivery 6 hours later. To say he took me by surprise is an understatement!

with DC2 I had a sweep on the thurs, told I was 4cm dilated and the nurse was a bit Shock that I was that dilated without any pain. No show or waters breaking.

On the saturday aturday morning at 7:30am had first contraction, went from 30mins to 5 mins within 2 hours, in hospital half hour later with no show and no waters breaking. Had a show almost as soon as I got to the maternity suite, about 1.5 hours before DS was born, and about 2.5 hours after I went into active labour. My waters did not break naturally, after 1 hour or so and at full dilation i had them broken artificially as no sign of them going any time soon and gave birth 19 mins later.

With DC1, I do not recall having a show at any time Confused. My waters broke at home naturally and unspectacularly at 5am, no contractions til 2pm, baby born at 11:47pm.

good luck i feel excited for you! Hope it goes smoothly.
