Even though it is my second pg, first time was an induction/intervention-fest so I have no idea what spontaneous labour feels like!
40+1 today and this morning I had a 'gush' (I know, sorry) of mucus then more watery stuff which was pink tinged. Nothing since about 9am.
Also having pains and BH but not regular enough to time them. I definitely feel different.
So, was that a show? and could it be days yet? Need to manage DH expectations (he is running round the house in his pants cleaning frantically!)

It may well be a show, but sorry to say it could be days weeks yet!

By 'gush' what sort of volume are we talking? Some discharge or enough to make you think you wet yourself

If it was a show then it could be hours...it could be days I'm sorry.

If it was a bit of your waters I would ring the midwife - stick a pad on and see if it gets wet?

if it's the show then you're looking at labour starting in the next 48 hours. Good luck! I'm 40 + 3 and going mad with waiting.

Maybe gush is exaggerating! Started thick then watery and had a bit more an hour ago. Don't think it is waters as had nothing else.
I started to time pains and now having tightening down low and pain every 8 minutes. Not strong enough to take my breath away but stronger than bh.
No idea when to ring midwife, need about an hour to get to hospital but equally don't want to leave ds too soon and end up coming home again

Pink-tinged would definitely say waters to me. Your waters can leak slowly - the baby's head can act like a plug, letting some through then not. If I were you, I would speak to somebody (not in a worried ways at all, just in an advice-getting way IYSWIM). Waters breaking can leave things open to infection and is also the sign of things starting!!

Good luck!!!
