I am booke don for wednesday but am convinced they are just going to tell me i cant be induced for various reasons (cervix not ripe, or too busy ward, or delivery suite closed, changed their minds about inducing at 41 weeks) I have had my consultion my cervix is favorable for induction and i have been booked in. Has anyone ever been booked in for an induction then turned away or told to wait longer on the day?

Im booked in at Leeds General. Maybe it just part of my induction nerves!

Yes.
I was booked in having been told I HAD to be induced at 10 days over because my BP was high. It turned out that medical reasons for induction were less important than having no beds!

In the end I went into labour naturally in the early hours of the next day, and they called me later that day to say they'd found me a bed.

if you're booked in then it should be fine. How far overdue are you? My hospital generally induce at 10 days overdue but I know others go to 14 days and even longer if you argue for it. If they'd turned me away from my induction I would have screamed the place down until they had induced me, I was desperate to get the baby out

Good luck!

I am 41 weeks so only 7 days over but requested/fought it due to SPD and previous traumatic and large baby. I think thats mainly why i'm Tryiing not to get my hopes up!

When I was 39+6 with my first child, I was told that she was small for dates and they wanted to induce. I was keen to get going, so they said to go straight up to the ward at 2pm. I was mortified when a woman who turned up for her scheduled Induction was turned away later because the ward was too busy (too many in labour). I felt I had nicked her place, but they said that medical need trumps 'late'.

Yup. 12 days over. Sat there from 10am then sent home at 7pm Sobbed for rest of the evening!! Finally started me off 11am the next day and 36 hours later (!) my DD finally turned up (EMCS)
Felt horrible at the time, but over it when I got my girl .
Try not to worry as it is out of your hands.
Lots of luck - hope it goes well!
