Head engaged

Hi

Does anyone know if 4th babies usually engage and is it a sign that labour may be sooner? I am nearly 38 weeks and was told on fri that the baby is very low and 3/5 engaged. I thought they engaged a few hours before labour in 2nd,3rd and 4th pregnancies?

Cheers :0)

I am on DC3 and he bobs in and out all the time . Some days he is so low I swear he is going to pop his head out and grin, others he is completely free and high.

I'm also on third pregnancy and this baby was the first of my children to get engaged ever at 39 weeks !

However midwife told me they can bob up and down if it isn't your first child. Now I am 40 weeks and no sign of labour, so not a sign of impending labour, sorry.

Oh well,I shall have to wait till he's ready to make an apperance.

Thanks for your replies, hope everything goes well :0)
