Contractions after sex....? Anyone awake now....?

Hi there,
I'm 40+4 and have just had sex to try and help labour along the way.....
Now getting very painful contractions under my bump. About 5 mins apart and lasting about a minute.
Is this a normal reaction to sex at this point in pregnancy? Will it settle? Can labour be induced almost immediately after sex???

Hi all - this is the hubby (DH onhere aren't I?)

To continue the story, DD was born after an hour and 45 minute labour. Placenta was a pain and didn't want to arrive though. DW was taken to hospital and during the birth and placenta removal lost a lot of blood and has had a transfusion. DW and DD are both doing very well - amazingly so given the scary nature of it all.

Writing this is just cementing how amazing she was as well as all the staff involved.

No doubt she'll write something here as soon as she returns home from hospital in a few days.

Now, where's the tissues, I'm welling up again!
