Hello,
anyone else had one of these and can offer words of encouragement?! I went to docs today becuase I am still bleeding (not heavily - can get away with pant liner) and it is dark red/brown. she said it was nothing to worry about as long as there were no clots/pain etc. of course, typically I went home and passed a clot the size of a large grape and vagina starts to hurt slightly. Back i go. She rootled round, took a swab and said 'it is slightly smelly' and has prescribed me erythromycin. She said she would drop swab off at a and e on her way home to get it tested over weekend and to go to out of hours doc if pain/clots increase. I currently don't have a temperature, so am hoping we caught it quickly.

I'm just wondering if anyone got one and recovered well and if you were prescribed these antibiotics or something else? As I am breastfeeding, she couldn't use the ones she wanted to.

i'm feeling pretty miserable at the moment - had cystitis, low iron levels, pre eclampsia, have managed to get thrush in my armpits and groin and now this - it feels never ending! I had a fab pregnancy, and it feels a bit like 'punishment' as a result!

Thanks in advance!

Thanks riven - blimey, did they leave membranes in after a cs or vaginal birth? I haven't bled or passed a clot since yesterday, so maybe it was just the end of my lochia...fingers crossed.

hi,

i had a uterine infection after i had DD and was passing big clots but had no pain. the only thing i noticed was a smell lingering around and i told the MW about it. she seemed concerned and sent me the GP as an emergency appt but the GP just gave me a prescription and didnt even do a swab it will get easier (all the probs) and you should start feeling more like yourself soon

congrats on the birth of your DC though

Yep, had similar after getting out of hospital - I didn't even see my GP, the midwife diagnosed me, dropped by our surgery and they even took the prescription to the chemist for me!! Cleared it up pretty quickly and best of all stopped the bleeding altogether. I passed some membranes which was a pretty boak-worth experience..!

Oh I had different ABs in answer to your original post but then I'm allergic to penicillin.
