How long after show till labour?

Just had a bloody show (sorry if tmi) rang labour ward and they said not to do anyrthing unless contractions start or waters break. Am at work .
My question is - how long do i have until labour starts. The midwife said could be up to 3 days but could it be longer?
Had appointment yesterday and the head is only 1/5 engaged.
Am 38 + 2 weeks.

Had a very large show 10 days ago at 38+6 after a sweep at 3/5s enagaged. Two further sweeps later and I am still here waiting so I would'nt panic just yet!! Hopefully you will be luckier than me .

I had my show at the lunchtime and went into labour that evening.
However, labour was quite long and my DD was born nearly 48 hours after my show.

I had my show in week 36 or 37 with DS, he didn't turn up until 41+3! The midwife told me it's only a sign of your body gearing up for labour, not a sign labour is imminent.

I had show in morning, waters broke at 5pm, DS born at 3am . . good luck!
