popping cyst!

My delightful vaginal cyst was discovered during my first labour and survived forceps delivery unscathed. Doc thought it was "probably" a Gartners cyst (congenital rather than from trauma), fwiw.

I've just had second dc and this time the cyst burst quite dramatically during 2nd stage. It feels OK so far, but as I also had a tear it's hard to be sure as that's still quite sore.

I'd like to hear from anyone else who's experienced anything similar - I'm wondering if it's likely to regrow? And will it just heal naturally? MWs weren't v interested/ knowledgeable about it.

Hello

I don't know if I can help because I had something a little different to you - I had a Bartholin's cyst. I just googled yours and see yours is more connected to childbirth etc whereas mine was more to do with too much fluid in there.

I actually had mine removed in surgery as it was so painful - I couldn't walk and was in a lot of pain. Maybe you should ask for a referral to a gynecologist? That's what happened to me in end as I went in as an emergency.

Mine did flare up and down for ages then just got really bad. So in answer to your question it did regrow.

Are you in pain with it normally or is it just since you were torn?

I had mine removed about seven years ago now and (touch wood) have never had a problem since.

I hope this helps in a roundabout way!

Thanks for responding. Yours does sound different - mine never caused any pain luckily, which is why I ignored it until it burst.

Poor you - perhaps I should just be glad I've got away with it til now and wait and see what happens.
