Did all your labours start the same?

I was wondering if all labours start the same.

I mean, with DD i woke up feeling a bit odd, then had a show and contractions growing stronger throughout the day, waters breaking at 2cm but strong contractions.

Does this mean my next one will start the same way?

If you had a show with the first, will you with the second?

Will it follow the same pattern?

Trying to decide whether i am in early labour, or baby just engaging

Thanks

1st labour - show at around midnight. Nothing else til I started very regular, close together contractions at 3.30am. Bbay born 4 hours later.

2nd labour - No show, started mild contractions at 11.30pm, baby born 2 hours later.

no 2 labours are the same!

for DC1 - twinges, building up to painful contractions in back radiating round to the bump. Slow 1st stage, lost the mucus plug and got to hospital thinking i was close to birth, but was only 1cm!
DC1 engaged up to 5/5 at last check days prior to birth.

for DC2 - twinges that quickly built up to bad period pain in the bump, no back pain labour this time. No mucus plug lost, just a bloody show. Stayed at home as long as I could as didn't want to pitch up at the hospital at 1cm....instead i got there at 9cm!
DC2 was only slightly engaged at days prior to birth.

I hope you have a great 2nd labour.

Both of mine I woke up at 4.30am, 4 days before due date.

However, with DS I woke because my waters broke, with DD it was just regular contactions that woke me, and waters waited another 12 hrs.

TSC - wondered how you were getting on

I have been having cramps, uncomfortable BH, a downward pressure and this morning(TMI) a lot of thick mucus but not bloody. DH thinks my bump is considerably lower too.

I just can't imagine i am in labour if i haven't had a show iyswim?

More sex! DH felt utterly used last time (reminded him it was the last he would be having for a while though!)

Good Luck!

I am 36+3 so ideally need to wait a bit longer - too much to do!

My waters broke first, out of the blue, with all 4 of mine. So they can start the same x
