Hi,

I am due to have my 4th baby in 4 weeks and starting to get nervous. My partner is in the army and is based a 4 hour drive away. My mum lives about 45 mins away.

My first was 2 days early & labour lasted 22 hours, my second was 3 weeks early with labour lasting 3.5 hrs. I was induced with my 3rd at 10 days overdue and labour was 17 mins.

My mum is planning to come & look after my kids when I go into labour but I am really worried about going into labour naturally & giving birth really quickly. My partner is planning 3 weeks off work but cant take this until I have had had the baby.

I have spoken to my midwife & consultant about my situation and they dont seem to understand my concern. They just said I had to phone an ambulance and take my kids with me to labour ward for my mum to meet them there.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation, can I asked to be induced early so my partner can be with me or is this dangerous for the baby.

Many Thanks :0

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Could you arrange for a homebirth?

17 minutes

Perhaps you should camp out on the hospital doorstep?

I understand your worry even if they don't, but unfortunately I have no idea what you should do. Good luck.

Thanks Sherbet but homebirth isnt a possibility as my blood pressure has been high so they said no and also no to a water birth.

Lol Unholymoley on the letter I have detailing the birth its states the birth was 2 mins 20 seconds!!

I have a consultant appointment on wed so gona try again, if not it looks like I am camping on the doorstep, till they get bored of me
