I am very concerned over the welfare of my nephew who I have not seen in over a year. My sister decided we should not have contact after feelings of being unsupported and suddenly cut off contact, came out of the blue after an appointment, where I was concerned over the scrutiny over his health. I have messaged and now understand I have been blocked, I am very worried and wonder what avenue to take since they are not in contact with no family members and no mutual friends.

I don’t want to exacerbate the issue and wonder whether notifying social services will cause a decline. I have no clue how he is and no family members to report. I thought about emailing his drama class which he attends for a welfare check. Very concerned at the moment.

Why aren’t you in any contact with any of your family?

Controlling father as a child, we were cut off from family and we just didn’t reconnect as adults.

But you aren’t in contact with any other siblings? Parents? No one at all?

Drama teacher won’t respond to you under gdpr. What about school?

Once they he is under their care they should be responsible for him. The only avenue Incan take at the moment

Do you speak to your mum? Is she local to your sister? Presumably you aren’t local?

Why not go straight to Children's Services Safeguarding team? That is all the drama group would do with any concerns. NSPCC might be another route.
