We're rather worried about my Year One grandson. His mum ( my daughter ) had difficulties with friendships at primary school and we're trying to head it off at the pass!
He's bright and chatty at home and talks about his school friends. However, he won't even say hello if he sees them outside if school and tends to wander about the playground aimlessly if the one child he feels comfy with is away from school.
My daughter is trying to get him more integrated with play dates etc and I hope that that will help.

He won't talk about the problem and gets tearful if asked.
Any tips/suggestions for books etc would be so very welcome.
Thank you so very much.

I was a beaver leader for many years. We had plenty of very shy boys or girls who had two lovely treats with us and really grew in confidence etc

I’d second Beavers - my son also tried karate. I believe that it’s good to try things outside school for social development - it really helped my son 🙂

He's on the waiting list for Beavers but it's a long list. Great suggestion, thank you so much.
