So I've got a health play assistant interview in a children's hospital ward. It's my dream job but the first ever interview I've had for an NHS position like this. All my previous interviews have been in educational settings mainly schools and nurseries. What sort of questions are they likely to ask for a post like this? I'm not sure if I'm posting to the correct group but as the role is about reducing anxiety and stress in hospital through play I guessed that child mental health would be the closest fit. Any advice will be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks in advance :) 💖

Safeguarding will definitely come up. And almost certainly something on information governance. Look up the trust values. Good luck. You will be dealing with very distressed children and parents. How will you manage that etc. I’m a paediatric nurse and play specialists are so important, a good one is worth their weight in gold. Unfortunately our play service is crap since their new manager took over. Good luck!

Get yourself on ChatGPT and ask it. It comes up with some great answers and really helped me with an interview recently.

copy the spec into chat GPT and ask it for interview questions.
read the job description and ensure you understand all the lingo.
