Dangerous situation between siblings

So this happened to someone close to me. This person has two children, a 9 and a 10 year old boy. I known them since they were born, the older boy I would say is on the spectrum ( but never been diagnosed),very introvert, got maybe one friend since starting school, very clever and always happy in his own little world of science. The second boy is his total opposite, a never stopping, extremely active boy ( I think he is hyperactive ),a social butterfly that loves attention. They usually get on well but often fight as the 9 year old annoys the 10 year old as he is happy in his own little world and he is bored. Recently it went to the extent of the older boy grabbing a knife from the kitchen wanting to stab his sibling....he was so full of rage,he had to be tackled by his mum, which was no easy task at that point.
Eversince I heard about this it scares me that what if one day he manages to get the knife?
Anyone ever heard or experienced this?
What should mum do?
Is this normal? Any advice?

No advice but yeah, completely not normal. If that were my children, I’d be getting the 9 year old some serious help with anger management.
