Has anyone used psychiatry UK?

Hi all.
I am desperate to get some help for my dd who is nearly 17. For about 3 years she has suffered from debilitating anxiety, we managed to get her through her GCSES and hoped college may be the answer.
Dd currently has weekly private counselling, this has been about 5 months now and I don't know if it is working as, clearly it is nothing to do with me. Anyway, she is on CAHMS list approx 9 months waiting.

The last couple of weeks she has started to refuse college and is tearful and angry, she says she hates being like this, is desperate to make friends but can't and wakes up dreading every day. Dd told me that she is now having intrusive thoughts about her own death and feeling like it would be better if she were not here, she assures me she is not suicidal or self harming. I will be booking a GP appointment tomorrow but feel she needs quicker help. GP won't prescribe meds as under 18 but I feel this might be needed now.

I had a look at psychiatry UK and wanted to hear others experiences of using it. I don't know how else to help her but feel she is escalating and I am so worried for her.

Just me then. My dd has seen the GP who says she does have depression and would benefit from medication but they won't prescribe it as she is 16 almost 17 so, options wait on CAHMS or pay privately then they will provide the repeat prescription 🤷. It is so bloody hard my dd says she is suicidal but nothing they can do.

I decided against this company in the end as the reviews I could find were pretty awful. So hard to get any advice on private psychiatrists.

I know this thread is a few months old but I noticed you didn't get any responses. I just wanted to say that sounds really tough and I hope things are improving for your daughter x
