2 weeks ago my 8yo was attending summer camp and was coming home everyday saying that the kids are saying it's haunted and full of ghosts. He now is refusing to go to camp and everyday he comes to me with worries and that he can't stop thinking about scary videos or things that he's heard his classmates say. He seems to be on edge everyday and he comes to me with worries throughout the day, although they are worse in the morning. I started him in therapy last week and I have an appointment with the pediatrician tomorrow. He is now scared that he's not going to get better and that they won't go away. I am at a loss and beyond worried for my little boy. I suffer from anxiety and ocd and am seeing this start in him. Did anyone go through something similar? How did your child do? Did they need medication? How long did it take for them to feel better? Thanks :(

My DS had severe anxieties that didn't seem rational but stemmed from ideas that grew big in his head and freaked him out . I looked into a very good probiotic combined with a low sugar, whole food diet after reading about a strong connection between the gut and the brain and over the weeks his anxiety completely lifted. He used to for example suddenly sprint away from a river in fear , thinking it was 'dirty' . we haven't had any of his anxieties back thankfully
