Hi all I’m new just looking for some advice
i have a 9 year old son who I have strong belief has ADHD ive done quite a lot of research and he literally ticks almost every box I’ve had suspicions for a while but as I’ve never delt with this myself I had a lot of boys will be boys or he behaves that way as his the only boy (3 sisters) so now I followed my heart and I’ve booked him a appointment with a gp to discuss further but was just wondering if gp also has same opinion what would the process of a diagnosis be any experience with how long it takes what should I expect would be greatly appreciated
also as he gets older would this get worser?
as said will be seeing a gp later this week but was just hoping any of you lovely ladies might be able to give me a insight on what I might expect
thanks for any advice x

Have you come across the Right to Choose option? You might not have to join the CAHMS waiting list.
Depending on where you live, you can ask the gp to refer you to a NHS funded private provider for diagnosis. It's worth doing some homework before hand as some Gps aren't well informed. You can speak to providers and see if they offer it before you go to the Dr's.

Hi thanks for your reply it’s really appreciated I’ve actually never heard of right to choose but will definitely look it up if it speeds things up a bit x
