ADHD/Anxiety Elvanse

👋 hi!

My daughter, just 11 has a diagnosis of ADHD and anxiety. And she has EBSA.

She tried methylphenidate (Equasym XL) a couple of times / dif doses over the last year and a bit but she felt absolutely the same on it and each time refused to continue to take as didn't see any benefit from it.

We had been waiting for elvanse to become available again for her to try that which she now has taken for almost a week and so far so good.

She says she noticeably feels different and more focussed and able to do her school work. I can see she's more regulated when on it and less blow ups at home with her siblings.

My hope is that with the adhd under control the anxiety will reduce.

Can anyone tell me their experiences of their children on this medication?

I recently started elvanse but I’m in my 40s! I’m not sure that is much help to you.

@Aerin1999 do you suffer with anxiety as well as adhd? If so how have you found it for both?

Yes I do. Have had anxiety for around 15 years. But the ADHD diagnosis is recent. I’ve had very good results with elvanse for the ADHD, I’m almost super productive, and love my job again. but candidly I believe it has made my anxiety a bit worse. As it wears off at the end of the day I often don’t feel good and can’t relax at all. I am wondering how to manage this…
