Hello
my teen is 15 and began cutting herself last week. First to my knowledge. How best do I deal with this.
we had CAMHS involvement fast at Xmas after thoughts on ending life but they signed off as situational. However situation has not altered or improved so it looks like she has taken another step. Been right away back to doctors and referred again but what can I do to help in mean time? I am trying to keep calm.

Sorry you've had no responses. Hopefully you've seen the GP by now. Meanwhile read this -

Can you access any CBT therapy (privately if necessary?))

Thank you. Shes on the waitlist for CBT. And she has appointment back with CAMHS. Hopefully they can encourage her that therapy is the way forward and that she is being listened to.

My daughter is also 15 and very recently started self harming. I was advised to take her to A&E to seek emergency response from camhs every time she self harmed, so three trips so far. She has been referred for urgent psychiatry, but with a waiting list it could be a few to several weeks before she is seen.
She's been relatively ok and hasn't self harmed for a week now.
Hope you both get the help she needs x
