ADHD Diagnosis

DS 12 has tested through school with a high score for ADHD and dyslexia.
Does anyone have any experience of waiting times for diagnosis or what provisions might be offered to help him and us in the long term?
I’m hoping it’ll be diagnosed in time for GCSE’s but going off Google it looks like a long ol’ wait!
I guess I’m just asking if anyone has had any experience of this and if they could share their knowledge of the process etc please?

4.5 years for an NHS diagnosis in our area. Most people I know are going private.
Once you get the diagnosis there is very little supports. Although obviously with ADHD medication becomes an option

My son (12) had first assessment with CAMHS yesterday and scored high for ADHD. They said they will put him on the list for a formal assessment and diagnosis but wait is around 2 years. I'm in north London.
