Have a 13 year old DS. He has changed...doesn't enjoy anything anymore ... moody, confrontational, lack of interest in anything he used to enjoy . Tearful and saying he feels sad all the time and enjoy nothing. Shit...my world wobbled a bit. I think he's depressed...not bullied at school but definitely not finding his tribe at the moment...lonely .

I need step by step advice please on where I go and what I now do. I don't have ages to research this but hoping someone can shed some practical light! He has ADHD if that helps.

THANK YOU!!

Sorry to hear OP,
Is he medicated for Adhd?
Depression is one of the comorbidities with adhd.
However, it is Still important to find out the cause of depression.
Would he talk to someone like a teacher, counsellor, GP?

My dd is diagnosed with depression and then we got an add diagnosis.
It's very hard to see them struggle.
I recognise the not enjoying the things they once loved.

Important thing is to show your son he is loved, you care and try and find things he can do that takes his mind off things.
Spending time with him will help if he will allow it.

Hi,
Sorry to resurrect your thread but was wondering how you and your son were getting on? I’m in the same position with my 12 year old DS (no ADHD diagnosis but lots of signs and I have dx). Very worried about the depressed behaviour but not sure how to get help - he won’t talk!
