Hi
my 12 yr old has been struggling with emetophobia for a couple of years and we have tried hypnotherapy but this didn’t really help much. She is currently really struggling at school and saying how unwell she is when there and having panic attacks. Just wondered if anyone has any advice about what would help? Has anyone’s child actually managed to get over this? I need some hope for her future!

I had this from age 6 - long story but sensory distraction really helped me. I always carried an olbas inhaler and this would be so helpful if panic started to set in. Might be worth a try? It's so tough as a kid to live with this so sending love as I was that child and the anxiety was overwhelming. I will say over the years with therapy and just growing older and going through different life stages it got better for me in that it doesn't prevent me doing anything really. Whatever you do to help will be such a comfort for your child as I have strong memories of my parents helping me, particularly my lovely mum.

Yes we did the book and times it seemed to make a difference and then we hit a blip. May need to get a coach but costs a £1000 which I don’t have right now.
