Medication for anxiety and depression?

My DD is 17 and suffers from anxiety and depression as well as some issues with eating. She has friends, attends and does well at school, but has had issues with mental health for a long time. She has seen a psychiatrist who has recommended fluoxetine - as well as talking therapy and a dietician. We are nervous about her taking drugs when she is so young and is coping (although very much feels she needs help and may not be fully honest with us about how bad her symptoms are). She has started psychotherapy but I don’t think that alone will get her out of the low mood/lack of energy/bad sleeping/overthinking and anxiety patterns that are embedded in her day to day life. Any advice would be helpful.

DD was prescribed fluoxetine at 16.5 and it was a game changer for her. She is still on it 3 years later but at a reduced dose and we have plans to reduce further next month. Without it she might well have stayed out of education and not been able to access therapy which is also still ongoing.
