Has anyone experience with a 12 year old DD having play therapy?

My daughter has had anxiety for having a bath or shower since coming out of hospital last month. Her biggest fear is having another bleed in the bath so wants me sat with her so she isnt alone. My end goal is for her to get her independence back. Has anyone else been through this or got any advice that will help? The GP has recommended play therapy but did say she is at the max age it's offered.

I am looking for play therapy providers this evening and see if that will help

Hi
I am a play therapist and it can be very successful in supporting anxiety. Play Therapy can be used for children and adults do your daughter's age is absolutely within range. It may also be worth exploring CBT if OR isn't available in your area.
