8yo son mental health

Last year my son had an issue with his mental health. He had a spout of crying every night almost, saying he was worthless and the like. It was awful, I contacted the school for their input and they referred to the childrens mental health team within the school. He had 8 sessions with them and he's been okay ever since. At home anyway, he hasn't been upset like that for a good 6-8 months now. His teacher has now messaged me asking if it's okay to re-refer him because he has had a few incidents of being with drawn at school, and now I'm so worried.

I just feel like I'm totally failing him as a mum. Why does he feel this way? All I want in the world is for him to be happy 💔

It’s good that the school are keeping an eye on him, it sounds like they are on the ball but it must be such a worry for you.
There is parental advice and support available here, you may find someone you are able to talk through these difficulties with, but you are NOT failing as a mum. I hope things improve for him soon. Flowers
