Hi All, I really didn't even know what to call this topic but I'll try to explain what I mean. My son (aged 10) has extreme anxiety and ADHD - both diagnosed by CAMHS. But he is so bloody argumentative, rude, defiant etc etc. His mind is completely closed to being corrected, being told off or equally when he is praised for positive behavior's its like water off a ducks back. When he's calm, he is a very endearing child, but when he decides to pick a fight at home he can be like a tornado tearing through the house, upsetting everyone involved. I don't mean to be having a rant about his behavior's but I'm really finding it difficult to know if any of this is down to the anxiety and the AHD or does it sound like he's just being bold? Its hard to stay patient, but I don't want to make excuses for him if it sounds like this is something that he does have control over, if that makes sense. On the other hand, maybe this is all part of the neuro diversity and I should be more tolerant of him, who knows. As always, any words of wisdom would be appreciated.
