Private ASD referrals - Axia ASD experience

Just to give an insight into our experience. We used Axia ASD after years of being let down by the NHS one size fits all ASD assessment. Initial service was very good but then the local NHS service refused to accept the diagnosis. At this point we went to Axia asking for assistance in fighting the refusal. We expected them to robustly defend their service and any diagnosis they provide. Unfortunately this was not the case, no management or clinicians would speak to us on the phone and we had to chase on several occasions to get any response at all.
In the end the best we got was a generic email on the service to forward to the NHS. We were left completely on our own to fight the refusal despite spending a lot of money to access the Axia service. To say we were left upset and disappointed is a massive understatement. My advice would be to save yourself the heartache and avoid this service.

Just to add an update, Axia came through for us on this and were fantastic in the end. We fought the decision and the NHS did backtrack. As such the diagnosis was accepted. Thank you Axia for your help
