I got it ordered in to John, Bell & Croyden on private prescription and it worked out at about £6 per tablet. You can get it online without a prescription much more cheaply though. iHerb is one source I believe.

We get ours on prescription from the GP via CAMHS so it's free.

You probably have been told this a zillion times but if you know anyone going to the U.S, you can buy it off the shelf in pharmacies there very cheaply so ask them to bring some back. Xx

Or don’t drug your child without a prescription provided by a doctor who has seen them in person

Woolandwonder · 27/01/2023 19:37

I order from biovea for myself. Takes a while to arrive but is reasonable cost wise.

This. Why would you need melatonin? Or moreso, if you need melatonin just get a prescription for it and then it's free

I have some I can send you if you'd like it. My dc has stopped taking it

Ralphswife · 30/01/2023 17:15

I picked up a private prescription just before Christmas and couldn't believe the price (mind you, that was for a year's worth). Thankfully, our GP has now agreed to take over the prescription.
Before I had the prescription I ordered it online but was advised that this can be quite risky as you have no idea whether the dose is accurate or not.
The prescription medication has been much more effective than anything I ordered online.

Wow so I just picked up a goldmine as my DD was overprescribed sone and brought a bag full home the other day! 🤯

Deafdonkey · 30/01/2023 18:56

Does this work for adults?

MaggieMagpie357 · 31/01/2023 10:23

@Deafdonkey yes, if your body doesn't produce enough melatonin. Otherwise no!

For those who cba to watch, it says only use occasionally.

paulmccartneysbagel · 15/03/2023 19:58

My GP recommended I buy it online for my son, and said it is perfectly safe.

It's not a drug, and the alternative is a child who is sleep deprived.

paulmccartneysbagel · 15/03/2023 20:01

To answer your original question OP, I pay around £20 for a spray.

I can second Biovea, can take a few weeks but it's worth it. They have different strengths as well, going from 1mg to 10mg. I like the 5mg gummies.

Cheesemas · 16/03/2023 12:20

If its for your child, ask for a referral to the paediatric sleep clinic. If they deem it necessary you will get a prescription and not pay a thing. If its for you, you can order it online from Europe (stores in the US will no longer ship melatonin to the UK).
