(Young adult child) Starting Sertraline

My 22 yr old has started Sertraline and been on it for a week. She was told she would get worse before she got better (she suffers from anxiety and obsessive compulsive/self harm) which is what is currently happening. I’m staying neutral with her but inside I’m screaming because I have bad feelings towards Sertraline because my mum was prescribed it and it was not good for her, she because suicidal. She was suffering from depression though which my daughter is not. I took my mum to the drs and they changed her over to Mirtazapine which I had taken previously and worked amazingly for me. It did the same for her and she recovered. But my daughter doesn’t have depression, she has a new uni she loves, and has found love too! So when she told me she had gone to the drs I was surprised.
She said yesterday that she had a 40 minute panic attack where her jaw locked, her hands and eyes locked up too. It just sounds horrendous to me, but is this normal for Sertraline? Please advise :( xx
