It's taken 4.5 years to get some therapy from camhs and now my dc keeps getting let down.

We first got referred to camhs when my dc was in year 6, they are now in year 11. Twice by the GP and one time by a paediatric consultant and all were refused. We then had another GP referral 2.5 years ago, we were accepted and put on a waiting list. We got a diagnosis of moderate/severe OCD last December and we got to see the psychiatrist who prescribed medication, he was quite astounded we had been refused 3 times initially esp because a consultant had referred us and apologised and said therapy was imminent. We then had to wait until August just gone when were finally told we had been allocated a therapist online. The relief was huge, we were finally there. I finally spoke to them and they organised a first appointment via telephone for the following week. I had my dc by the phone with me..we waited and waited and nothing! We tried phoning camhs admin, they said they had a problem with the system and they would email the therapist and get them to ring us back but nothing....took a week to get back to me..
Since then they have done some sessions with my dc and they really get on with therapist and they confirmed my child would have weekly sessions with them every week. HOWEVER since we have started with them my child has been sat next to the computer waiting 6TIMES altogether where they has not come online. Completely soul destroying.
The latest was yesterday, where my child had bucked up courage and decided they would tell them an intrusive thought that has been really bothering them and my child waited and waited and nothing. I emailed and they said she had contacted admin to tell them that she couldn't see my child and that they can't squeeze them in this week now or next week either but will the week after. I like the therapist and so does my child but I wonder if they are completely overwhelmed? They dont work for camhs anymore but they take on camhs patients.
Some reasons for them not attending are valid I'm sure but to never be contacted that they cannot make it all those times is highly frustrating.
I just don't know what to do. I've seen no improvement yet in my dc as it's so inconsistent, I'm also angry because if my child had an in person appointment, there's no way this would happen.
Do I complain and tell camhs that I will not accept this or just carry on and accept that they may not turn up for an appointment now and again!
I wish with all my heart, I had just taken out a loan 4 years ago and gone private. My child is now worse than over and my and my dh are really struggling.

I would write to the person in charge of the the camhs team and state the above.
Do you have the name of the child psychiatrist of the team?
Tell them...

I would also write to the head of the CAMHS team and set out the above and how being let down is affecting your child. You can be nice.. but firm. Don’t give up, now you’re in the system you need to stay there. Good luck

Complaint. But honestly I’d also be pragmatic and go private 🤷‍♀️ There are lots of therapists who do sliding scales if you are low income
