Can someone please help me? My daughter, 12, undiagnosed, is suffering with low mood and suicidal ideation. She self harms, and has experimented with asphyxiation. Tonight she came downstairs in a panic. She doesn’t know how to keep herself safe, thought she was going to hurt herself or one of us, felt totally out of control. The look in her eyes was sheer fear. She said she felt paranoid. She wanted us to take her somewhere so she wouldn’t hurt herself or us. She couldn’t sit, was standing, agitated, moving all her body. And then it was over, and she fell asleep. She has such lows that come from nowhere. They last for 30 minutes max, and then she crashes. These are happening about twice a week. She’s being seen as an urgent case by CAMHS next week, and us having an ADHD and ADHD assessment next month. Does anyone else recognise these kinds of symptoms? Thank you.

In all honesty I’d take her to a&e during her next episode they may admit her they may not but it could help them realise the severity and probably help you get further with Camhs I’m so sorry you and your daughter are going through this Flowers

Thank you HM2020. We called the out of hours team last night, who have logged the latest episode. They are seeing her urgently as they said her symptoms are unusual. I'm concerned that there is some kind of psychosis going on there?

A&E will admit for suicidal ideation if you press on them the deep concern you have and the strength of the MH within DD. My DD was admitted.

Make sure you don't leave her alone.

My dd seemed fine one day and she said she was going to get changed, she came back downstairs and had chopped off her beautiful long hair....didn't know why. From then on I stayed with her until her thoughts had recovered and we had professional help...

I had to sleep in the same room as my DD for 8 months to be sure she was ok.
