Hi does anyone have any experience with paper being rolled in books or just paper or fabric like clothing t shirt sleeves being rolled up or edges of duvet covers rolled to comfort? Is this an autism thing or just a normal thing ?

I do very similar things to stay focused/calm/relaxed. I’m not autistic.

Ooh I have never been diagnosed as autistic, but I do this. My favourite things to roll up are handkerchiefs and glasses clothes because they roll extra nicely.

I also build models with blutack, do origami, doodle many many tiny squares coloured in with geometric patterns... Anything to keep my hands busy.

I like the feeling of the smoothness of the things I roll up but try not to do it to anything I would wreck by repeated rolling.

Worth looking at origami as a productive alternative if you want - you can make beautiful Christmas decorations.
