My daughter, 9 years old, has recently been diagnosed with adhd. She started on Medikinet XL 10 mg for a week with no side effects or benefits. 2nd week she went up to 20 mg and has now been on this dose for 4 days but again, there is no noticeable benefit. I find this very strange and I am going to call the clinic tomorrow to hear their advice but I just wanted to hear if anyone has any experience about this? She is a very slight 9 year old, more like a 7-8 year old frame. The school isn't noticing any difference and at home she also just the same. I guess the only difference is that she is now not going to bed until 9 pm whereas she used to be tired at 8.30 pm before. She says she feels slightly less hungry at lunch but still eats. There is no difference in focus and concentration. Any thoughts or own experience would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, my daughter was the same. We actually increased dosage up to 50mg of medikinet and it still hasn't had a massive impact. She is 15 with inattentive ADHD. You can tell when she has had it as able to focus more but definitely not a light bulb experience like some say. Spoke to doctor and they said to try another type of medication so will let you know how that works.
