Hi

My son had EMDR aged 11 after violent trauma aged 10 and severe bullying and exclusion from friendship groups aged 11. It did make a big difference for him. I had it as an adult after the same violent trauma, and it was lifechanging for me. Dislodged trauma, felt in my control to do top ups when needed, really rapid progress (in tandem with counselling).

I suppose it might depend what the trigger is for the panic attacks for your child, but certainly its a well-respected therapy for other things. Hope that helps.

I have seen it have good results professionally ( it wasn't me doing it but it was very well used in some teenaged patients)

In currently having EMDR, it's good, but mine is for specific PTSD. If it's generalised anxiety I'm unsure how that would work. Try and find a therapist who is a good fit.
