Child CBT

I’m thinking of exploring cbt for my very anxious dc aged almost 10. Has anybody looked into this or done this with a child this age?

I’ve just done CBT for my own anxiety and found it beneficial and dc is very similar to me, so I’m hoping it would be helpful to them.

Any suggested names of therapists on the thread or by pm would be great - ideally we would like to do it via zoom so therapist could be anywhere.

Play therapy or creative psychotherapy might be more age/developmentally appropriate and can use some CBT in developmentally appropriate ways. There are lots of resources and ideas to help with anxiety in children, though you may have tried them already.

@HeyGirlHeyBoy thanks so much for your reply. I’ve done a few bits but would be grateful for any links you could share.

@HeyGirlHeyBoy can you suggest any practitioners of the approaches you mentioned?

I'm not in the UK but if you want to pm me your area I can ask on a play therapy UK FB group I'm a member of. Will send some links later let me know what you've tried.
