Background is that she’s had social anxiety and Selective Mutism for most of her life. Now she is depressed: flat, extreme calorie counting, no energy even to walk from one room to the other.

We just had another CAMHS appt where we completed the GCADS with the nurse. I’m expecting, certainly based on what I reported, that the nurse feed back that dd has depression.

My big worry is that the next appointment at CAMHS is not till mid August and we probably will wait till I have no idea when for them to trial anti-depressants (although I expect they will begin CBT on that date).

In my mind nothing will change until we get the right support and the process is so slow. I would appreciate advice about how I can get her through day to day till August. And that’s notwithstanding that nothing magic is going to happen in the mid August appt.

What can I do now? How can she live through each day? Thanks for reading.
