Hello fellow parents......
please help.......my five year old daughter suffers from separation anxiety since I got pneumonia and got taken to hospital in an ambulance. My husband was away and a friend looked after her until I was able to return home.
Since then, she is fine going to school and to her clubs, but I can't even leave the house for a 10min dog walk without her having a panic attack. She seems to go through a routine for feeling poorly, needing the toilet, having a tummy ache, asking for her temperature to be taken, and then asking for a sick bucket.
Today I had to go back to hospital for a minor operation. My daughter was so distressed at me leaving her, she spent the morning vomiting. She was so bad, I managed to get the doctors to release me early so I am now at home and she's now absolutely fine! How can we overcome this stress every time I leave the house!? I doesn't matter how much we try to reassure her, she just worries worries worries!!!! Help!
